It?s based on a book and they?ve been comparing it to Twilight (shudder!), since it?s for the purpose of ?young adults?. I found it interesting in parts but mostly disappointing for the apparent marketing build-up
Watch The Hunger Games.
Suzanne Collins wrote a trilogy of books named the Watch The Hunger Games Online. She drew from personal feelings with regards to the Iraq war, the Vietnam war and in some cases Greek and Roman history. There?s Marxism the place you produce an elite class of people oppressing a downtrodden part of society, which inevitably rebels. It?s from the longer term within a place called Panem when a part of their population rose as much as revolt but were soon quashed and put in order with the Capitol city. Every year, two youngsters (a boy along with a girl) from each one of the 12 Districts are selected by ballot to enter a gladiator-type contest for the death and then there are only able to be one Victor. This all so that you can show the Districts that is boss and punish them for arrogant betrayal.
From District 12 girl Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) volunteers in place of her ?selected? younger sister to participate. She?s feisty and can hunt that has a bow and arrow so that you virtually realise she?s got a fighting chance. The boy, Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) has a crush for my child (she already features a boyfriend played by hottie Gale (Liam Hemsworth) nevertheless, you discover how chick flicks love an affection triangle!
The ?multi-coloured people? while i wish to call them from your Capitol whisk them away over a futuristic train (preps magnets so really don?t see how futuristic which is considering they have got Maglevs in Japan). The ?tributes? are paraded out ahead of the Games master Seneca (Wes Bentley using a strangely crafted beard), the President (Donald Sutherland) and pageant-style host Caeser (Stanley Tucci) and a huge number of Capitol citizens who cheer and jeer in anticipation. Permit the games begin however, not until some training is gotten, sponsors acquired and enmities have established yourself. Woody Harrelson as past winner Haymitch and Cinna (Lenny Kravitz) would be the mentors for Katniss and Peeta. Let the games begin?
The condition with The Hunger Games quite simply specifically how that is all about to pan out. You already know who can win, you understand who the bad guys are, you wonder what?s the point of this all. What i'm saying is inside film, the games work to entertain the bourgeois multi-coloured people but there?s barely one scene where they?re shown watching your violent encounters involving the kids battling against each other in a artificial forest (detailed with cameras in trees ala The Truman Show). Yes the districts get all energized at ?the girl on fire? Katniss?s bravery and revolt. Maybe this is just the build-up movie to the inevitable sequel but I wasn?t impressed.
The violence is bland, the fighting scenes dull, the romance is ridiculous along with the end so predictable you may whether the book too was starved of a typical unique ideas.
Jennifer Lawrence is really a bright young actress (nominated with an Oscar for Winter?s Bone 2010) and does her best. The opposite actors, their character?s motivations and dialogue are simply just hackneyed. I?m sorry but I got more thrills out of the Twilight series which does not say much for your Hunger Games.
